Industrial, manufacturing and commercial buildings or structures are often used by many species of birds for nesting or roosting. Their presence causes health risks and degradation of surfaces. The bird species involved are usually pigeons, starlings, and swallows. Where possible, exclusion techniques such as netting off roofs and structures to prevent birds nesting or roosting are applied to cut down the attractiveness of an area. FES has personnel trained in the erection of netting barriers inside and outside buildings and in putting up spike strips and other deterrents.
